What steps does Chef's Marketplace take to address COVID-19?
Chef's Marketplace has always maintained the strictest standards. Our vendors are local and we grade all of our ingredients for quality, freshness and sustainability every delivery.
From the moment our ingredients arrive, and through the cooking and preparation process, your food is never exposed to harmful elements. We protect our fresh foods during preparation with stringent temperature control.
Once our food is cooked, it is then blast chilled down to 34 °F within a 90-minute period. This is to not only prevent any food borne illnesses but also ensures the freshness of the food. Then everything is plated in a cold room at 34 °F.
We follow safe and conscious food preparation guidelines, which include frequent hand washing, gloved hands and full protective chef coats, safety masks and hairnets
Surfaces are sanitized between duties, and gloves are changed to prevent any cross-contamination. Cooler bags and ice packs are sanitized and disinfected everyday, and a zip tie is applied to your cooler bag for safety.
Our commissary is regularly disinfected with a safe and effective (EPA-registered) vapor spray, that will not only disinfect germs, bacteria and viruses (including SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19), but will also protect against new bio-threats from surviving on the surface of our tables, desks and equipment.

Does Chef's Marketplace offer No-Contact Delivery?
Yes, all of our deliveries are made overnight between 6 pm and 6 am and are already following a non-contact delivery initiative.
What can you do to keep yourself safe?
Here are a few general guidelines to stay safe:
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds.
- Stay away from large events or crowded places if possible.
- Protect your immune system with plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Yes, Chefs Marketplace is a meal subscription service. Once you sign up, you will receive a delivery of the meals and add-ons of your choice once a week.
Are my meals freshly made or frozen?
All Chef's Marketplace meals are freshly cooked and never frozen.
Where are Chef's Marketplace ingredients purchased?
Chef's Marketplace uses suppliers who support local markets/farms.
What types of meals do you offer?
Our entree menu consists of a wide variety of meals from cuisines around the world that are delicious and health conscious. Besides our entrees, you may also order cold-pressed juices, breakfast, salads, vegan soups and desserts from our Add-On menu.
Is your produce organic?
We support local farms and always source organic when possible.
What type of meat do you use?
All our meats are hormone and steroid free, and our chicken is free range.
What type of fish do you use?
We use ocean-raised and wild-caught fish in our meals.
How do I heat up the meals?
Food can be heated in a microwave, a mini-convection oven, or a conventional oven. You can find specific heating instructions for each meal in the meal details page.
Here are some general guidelines:
Microwave: Heat meals 1–2 minutes, uncovered in the microwave. If meal is not hot, heat in 30 seconds increments until hot. We recommend draping a moist paper towel over the uncovered container helps to keep moisture in.
Mini-convection oven: Remove meals from container and place them in the convection oven for 5-7 minutes.
Conventional Oven: Remove meals from containers and place in oven safe dish. Heat meal at approximately 325 degrees. Heating time is 20–30 minutes. Keep in mind heating time and temperature can vary between ovens.
What if I don’t like certain foods or have an allergy?
Ingredients and nutritional info are provided for each menu item on the online menu. Simply click on the menu item name or hover your mouse over the menu item image and click on the "eye" icon to see the ingredients list. Please only choose the menu items that are made with the ingredients you can eat.
How do the meals stay fresh during transit?
Chef's Marketplace meals are packed in an insulated cooler bag with reusable ice packs to ensure your meals remain cold and fresh. We recommend you to refrigerate the items immediately after you receive your cooler bag.
What areas do you deliver to?
We currently deliver to Southern California, including Los Angeles, Orange County, Ventura County, San Diego County, parts of Santa Barbara and Riverside County. When you place an order, our website will check whether you're within our delivery area first. You can also contact us to find out whether we delivery to your area.
Will my bag be secure from tampering?
Yes, each Chef's Marketplace bag is secured with a tamper resistant break-away tab.
How soon will I begin to receive my meals?
You may choose a delivery day during the coming week when you place an order for your subscription. Your meals will be delivered by 6 am on the designated delivery date. The future deliveries will be delivered on the same weekday every week. You can change the delivery day by logging into your account.
Can I change my delivery address?
Yes, as long as the your new address is within our delivery area. You may change your delivery address for the upcoming delivery before the cut off time Wednesday 11:59 pm. Simply log into your account on our website to update your delivery address.
What time will my order be delivered?
Your delivery will be made the prior night of the shipping day you've set, anytime between 6 pm to 6 am. We recommend checking if the bag has been delivered before you go to sleep .
Do I need to be home to receive the delivery?
Our deliveries are made the prior night from the shipping day you chose and you do not need to be home to receive the delivery. Our delivery staff will follow your delivery instructions, so please be sure to provide clear instructions and any gate codes if needed. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us before you order a meal subscription.
What do I do with the empty bag, ice packs and meal containers?
You can place your cooler bag with the Ice packs a night before your next delivery. Our delivery staff will pick them when dropping off your delivery. The meal containers should be placed in your recyclable trash.
Please feel free to keep a couple of our cooler bags and reuse them at your convenience.
What if I have a problem with my delivery?
Please contact us immediately. Chefs Marketplace is open Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, except for holidays.
Is my information maintained in a private and confidential manner?
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected and encrypted via SSL (Secured Sockets Layer).
We also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (AMEX, VISA, MasterCard and Discover).
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel your subscription any time by logging into your account on our website. If you cancel your subscription after the cut off time (Wednesday 11:59 pm), keep in mind that your credit card would already be charged and your delivery for next week will still be made.
Can I make changes to my order after the cut off time?
If it is past the cut off time ( Wednesday 11:59 pm before your next delivery), unfortunately you will not able to make any changes.

You can choose and change your meal selections any time for your next week's delivery before the cut off time on Wednesday 11:59 pm this week.
How long do meals stay good for, once delivered?
We recommend consuming our meals within 2 days after you receive the delivery.
Can I change the number of meals I get per delivery?
You may change between our meal plans (6 meals, 9 meals or 12 meals per week) for your next delivery any time before the cut off time (Wednesday 11:59 pm) by logging into your account.
If you need more meals, you can also add additional entrees by choosing them from our Add-Ons menu.
Can I skip a delivery?
To skip a delivery, simply log into your account, click on "Manage Meals", and select "Skip This Delivery". Make sure you check the checkbox for skipping this delivery and click "Skip Delivery" button to confirm your change.
Can I change my delivery date?
To change the delivery day for your next delivery before the cut off time (Wednesday 11:59 pm), simply log into your account, click on "Manage Meals", and select "Change Delivery Date". You can select a new delivery date on the calendar after clicking into the delivery date box. Make sure you confirm your new delivery date by clicking "Update Delivery Date" button.
Your future delivery day will be delivered on the same week day as the new delivery date you selected.
